Open Sessions

Open Sessions are short weekly blocks of participatory music workshops designed for Disabled adults (age 16+) who have little or no previous experience.

Our participants thrive in a fun, experimental music environment. We place accessible approaches at the heart of activities, fundamentally shaping radical new ways we make music. The sessions are sensitively led by experienced facilitating artists while everyone in the room shape the themes and activities together. We invite you to explore a new sound world, improvise, and lead the sessions.

The Open Sessions are delivered in accessible venue locations across Glasgow such as Maryhill Burgh Halls, the Tron Theatre and Gorbals Parish Church – central locations allow easy access and referrals by partner support organisations. Since 2023, Sonic Bothy have been reaching out to rural areas in Fife, Perth & Kinross and Stirling where there are little or no musical opportunities for Disabled communities.

Booking for Open Sessions are now open!

The Open Sessions are for adults (age 16+) with little or no previous musical experience, and offered for free.
